What is CC-8251G-90?
CC-8251G-90 is the Channeltech CAT6 Flat 4 Pair lift cable: a 12 × 5 mm flat travelling cable with four twisted pairs of 24 AWG stranded copper (7/0.195 mm), each pair in its own flexible PVC sheath, inside an FRLS PVC outer. It is supplied in 90 m coil pairs and is recommended for IP-camera runs up to 60 m.
Which lift camera does it suit?
IP cameras — the kind that connect to an NVR or a network switch and take PoE. One flat cable carries data and power to the car. For HD or analog (DVR) cameras use the 2+2 Flat, CC-9511K-90.
How far will it carry PoE to the camera?
Channeltech recommends runs up to 60 m of cable for an IP camera on PoE. Stranded 24 AWG copper has a little more resistance than solid 23 AWG, so the 60 m figure keeps voltage at the camera comfortable with a standard 802.3af/at switch.
Why not use ordinary round CAT6?
Round CAT6 uses solid conductors and a rigid jacket. In a lift it flexes with every trip and the solid cores work-harden and crack, usually within months. A flat cable with stranded conductors and a flexible FRLS jacket is built for millions of flex cycles.
Is it a Channeltech or a WIAN product?
