CAT6 Flat 4 Pair + GI Rope lift cable
CC-8261G-90 · 90 m coil pairsThe CAT6 Flat 4 Pair construction with two multi-strand galvanised (GI) steel ropes moulded into the flat profile as messengers, so the cable hangs from the rope rather than from its own conductors. For tall shafts and lifts that run all day.

CC-8261G-90 — questions
What is CC-8261G-90?
CC-8261G-90 is the Channeltech CAT6 Flat 4 Pair lift cable with two galvanised steel (GI) ropes built into the flat profile. The ropes act as messengers: the cable hangs from steel, not from its copper, so it suits tall shafts and lifts with a heavy duty cycle.
When do I need the GI rope version?
When the hanging loop is long or the lift runs continuously — high-rise residential and commercial buildings, hospital lifts, lifts above roughly 15 floors, or any shaft where the lift company already uses a rope-supported travelling cable. In a low-rise building with a short loop, CC-8251G-90 is enough.
Is the electrical performance the same as CC-8251G-90?
Yes — the four twisted pairs are the same construction; only the messenger ropes and the profile width differ. Use the same 60 m recommended run for IP cameras on PoE.
How is the rope fixed?
The GI ropes are terminated at the fixing point (mid-shaft junction box or the shaft-top bracket) with rope clamps so that the ropes, not the conductors, take the load. The lift company's travelling-cable bracket is the usual place.
